The Ba is an aspect of the soul, represented as a human-headed bird. Amennakht was an Ancient Egyptian artisan and was called a Servant in the Place of Truth, as were other artisans who lived in Deir el-Medina and decorated tombs in the Valley of the Kings. His wife was Imyway and they had two sons who were also artisans, Nebenmatt buried with his wife Mertseger in TT219, and Khaemteri buried in TT220. The tombs shared a forecourt and three chapels.
