- The Dafosi Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge spanning 450 metres over the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China. The bridge carries 6 lanes of traffic on the G65 Baotou–Maoming Expressway between the Nan`an District east of the Yangtze River and the Jiangbei District to the west.It was completed and opened to traffic in January 2002. When the Great Buddha Temple Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic, it was the longest bridge of its kind in Asia. The bridge was named by Jiang Zemin, the then general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. The new bridge behind is Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge. Qingcaoba in the north of the Yangtze River in the west and Wangjiatuo on the south bank in the east. The main span is 552 meters long and the total length is 1741 meters. If the front and rear approach sections are included, it is 4881 meters long. It was the longest arch bridge in the world when it was completed. Construction started in March 2006. , and opened to traffic in 2009. The track reserved on the lower floor was put into use with the Chongqing Rail Transit Ring Line on December 28, 2018.
