- Cover photo description:
- At the time, Southern Dobrudja was under the rule of Romania. After visiting the area, the Romanian Queen Maria of Edinburgh fell in love with the surrounding nature and decided to build her summer residence here. When in 1924 the Italian architects took up the task, she named her villa `Tenha Juva`, which in translation means `The Quiet or Secluded Nest`. The queen wanted her guests and herself to feel the incredible tranquility that emanates from the area. This is the reason why the cottages are scattered throughout the yard. Apart from detached villas, chapels, fountains, nymphaeums, paths, courtyards and streams were built over the years.
