Cover photo info
- Photo title: A little skipper butterfly is a helpful pollinator
- Author: Ricardnature
- Cover photo description:
- This is an Autochton potrillo butterfly species, Hesperiidae family, Eudamini tribe. Previously known as Cabares potrillo. It is similar to the hammock skipper, Polygonus leo species, but smaller due to shorter forewings. The white dots on the forewing are also smaller and with a different pattern. This one was feeding from a Bidens genus plant flowers. We can see the proboscis. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Peten department, Guatemala. Population and distribution threatened by climate change.
