- Photo title: Fairfield lift bridge over the Yellowstone River in Montana
- Author: Adamwineke
- Cover photo description:
- 1913 steel constructed bridge with massive concrete counterweights now a part of the Lewis and Clark Trail. A fence lines the steel mesh walkway along the historic structure. At the far end of the bridge is the cartwright tunnel, a timber constructed tunnel and the only completed rail tunnel in the state of Montana. The steel truss bridge was known as the great northern railway bridge when constructed in 1913 for train traffic.
