  • Photo title: A flowering mustard plant, Manikganj, Bangladesh

  • Cover photo description:
  • When the fields bloom yellow in autumn, there the popular mustard is growing. Here, it is primarily white and brown mustard Sinapis alba and Brassica juncea that is cultivated, whereas black mustard Brassica nigra is rarely grown agriculturally because of the difficulty of mechanical harvesting. Strictly botanically speaking, by the way, brown and black mustard are not “real” mustard at all, because neither plant belongs to the genus mustard Sinapis. I have taken this photo from Manikganj, Bangladesh.
