- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- Mans earliest from of power generation was his,or hers own muscle. Over time we started using the muscles of animals and captured other humans. With the development of small towns then big cities, power from swift flowing water and wind was harnessed. There is evidence that early man used wood or coal in their caves for heating and cooking, but it wasn't until the early nineteenth century that we had the technology for extracting fuels from the ground on a truly industrial scale, and shipping it to homes and businesses cheaply, when the use really took off. We have now become so dependent on this energy that if it ever gets disrupted, even briefly,it disrupts our entire life. For emergency purposes, more and more homes and whole cities are installing Back Up Generators or BUG for short. This early science fiction version of a futuristic building in San Francisco is one such Back Up Generator. As discovered 29 April 2023.
