- Author: Kordoz
- Cover photo description:
- The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the largest double-naved Romanesque-Gothic church in Spiš. It was built by German colonists in the 13th century on a hill in the village of ?ubica, in the district of Kežmarok, in the Prešov Region. The church was originally constructed in the Romanesque and Gothic styles with a square sanctuary. In the 1330s, the presbytery was modified, and in the second half of the 14th century, the space of the nave was vaulted on three pillars, creating the largest double-naved structure in Spis, Europe, Slovakia.
