  • The South Campus of Sun Yat sen University Guangzhou Campus is located in Haizhu District, near the the Pearl River River, formerly known as Sun Yat sen University South Campus, also known as Kangle Park. It is the original campus of Lingnan University. There are a number of buildings built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China in Kangyuan. In August 2002, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture approved the listing of these buildings as "Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units", becoming the first university campus in South China to be listed as a cultural relic protection unit. The school attaches great importance to this batch of buildings with a long history, unique architectural style, and rich cultural heritage. It plans to invest heavily in the maintenance of 58 architectural relics in stages and batches, in order to strengthen the protection of architectural relics, maintain the traditional style and profound cultural heritage of the campus. Kangyuan Park, along with Weiming Lake at Peking University and Luojia Mountain at Wuhan University, is considered the most beautiful scenery among the three major Chinese universities.
