  • Red-billed starling (scientific name: Stunus sericeus): similar in size to other startled birds, 20-23cm in length. Vermilion mouth, orange feet. The male bird has a silky white or brownish white head and neck, a dark gray back, a gray chest, and a pale back, with black wings and tail. The front of the female bird's head is brownish white, the back is dark gray, the upper body is grayish brown, the lower body is light grayish brown, and the rest are the same as the male bird. The features are all very obvious and easy to recognize in the wild. They mostly inhabit open plains, agricultural areas, and jungles, as well as nest in wall or tree holes. It is mainly distributed in southern China, from Shaanxi, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu to Guangdong, Hainan, west to Sichuan, Yunnan, and other places. Also seen in Japan and Vietnam.
