Cover photo info
- Photo title: Church of St Mary and All Saints, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, UK
- Author: Pedaira
- Cover photo description:
- The famous Chesterfield twisted spire (a member of the Association of the Twisted Spires of Europe!) was once straight but twisted to see the beauty of a bride and got stuck. Or maybe the devil did it. Or maybe they used unseasoned timber. The current church was build in 1234AD but the spire was built in 1362 during the Black Death when there was a shortage of manpower so built by inexperienced workers.
