- Photo title: Union Covered Bridge in Northern Missouri
- Author: Paulbuhr
- Cover photo description:
- Covered Bridge over the Elk Fork of the Salt River in Monroe County, Missouri near the city of Paris. Built in 1871 as an example of Burr double arch truss bridge, the sole remaining bridge of this type in Missouri. 125 feet long and seventeen and a half feet wide , it is currently closed to vehicular traffic, but open to foot traffic. Most of the interior is covered with carved names and grafitti. Bridge was repaired several times as evidenced by newer looking beams inside and out. Named for a nearby Christian church which has since ceased to exist.
