- Photo title: Hurricane Hilary: Climate Change Strikes The Southland
- Author: Randomshots
- Cover photo description:
- Normally, a hurricane would move up the coast of Baja, Mexico, and make a right turn across the land where it would cause massive flooding, destruction of property, and loss of life. Instead, the hurricane moved up the coast of Baja but instead of making a right turn it continued north into Southern California and the Coachella Valley which had not seen a hurricane in 39 years. Fortunately, the force of the hurricane had been reduced by the time it made landfall. This damage was caused by water rushing down the runoff channel.
