Lilac-breasted roller (Coracias caudatus) is an African bird of the roller family, Coraciidae. Also known as fork-tailed roller, lilac-throated roller and Mosilikatze's roller, it is a large-headed bird with lilac throat and crown to mantle is of olive colour. Cheeks and ear coverts are lilac-rufous. It is widely distributed in Southern and Eastern Africa and prefers open woodland and savanna. Usually found alone or in pairs perched on tree tops, poles or other high vantage points.
