- Photo title: Enlisted men's barracks at historic Ft. Laramie
- Author: Paulbuhr
- Cover photo description:
- Ruins of concrete walled barracks beside the parade ground at Fort Laramie in Wyoming. Construction of the walls entailed mixing sand and gravel with quick lime and water to make a type of concrete and pouring the mixture into molds which could be used over and over. The blocks of concrete were stacked into the walls and capped with more concrete formed around the ceiling joists and roof rafters. Humps of the concrete can be seen where the joists and rafters have rotted away.
