  • Cover photo description:
  • The Trinidad white-fronted capuchin is a subspecies (Cebus albifrons trinitatis) or species (Cebus trinitatis) of gracile capuchin monkey. It is found on the island of Trinidad. It can be found in Nariva Swamp, accessible by kayak or dinghy in the wet season or on foot in the dry season with Nariva Swamp Eco tours. This internationally protected forest reserve is Trinidad’s largest mangrove freshwater wetland, located behind lush coconut groves. Within the swamp, there is the Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, home to more than 200 species of birds and animals. The most rare and critically endangered white-fronted Capuchin monkey can be found here.
