- The tower of Palace Leone XIII and the Italian capital of Rome seen from the roof of Saint Peter's Basilica. The tower of Leon XIII, from the name of the pope who ordered to rebuild it in the Middle Ages and made a summer residence from it, the first radio broadcast took place in 1931. From here the Vatican Radio provides broadcasts in 45 languages. A high transmission antennae has been visible on the tower till now. The broadcasting station was projected by Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of radio.
