  • Black-necked stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus) is a tall long-necked wading bird in the stork family. It’s a resident bird across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia with a separate population in Australia. Bird of wetland habitat, but is also frequently found near fields of certain crops such as rice and wheat where it forages for a wide range of small animals. It has heavy bill and the body is patterned in white and iridescent black, but the sexes differ in the color of their iris. Females have yellow irises whereas males have dark-colored irises.
