  • The current Orthodox church in Trze?cianka dates back to 1864 and was built on the site of the one that burned down in 1835. The history of the construction is associated with the following legend, which has been almost completely forgotten: A man bought wood from a Jew, or more precisely, beams, to build a house. When he cut one of them in half, gold coins, which he intended for the construction of the church, fell out of the beam. It was thanks to him and the parishioners' contributions that a beautiful Orthodox church was built, which we can admire to this day. There used to be a clock in the church bell tower, which supposedly always showed nine o'clock. Another interesting fact can be noticed by carefully observing the cross on the dome of the bell tower - it is missing a piece of an iron arm. This is the case of a German soldier who, during World War II, was aiming at a cross and shot off a piece of it. The fence around the church was built of field stone in 1884.
