  • Point Froward - View from Mutton Cove quay. The view from the waterfront shows the location of what was the first Dockyard built at Devonport on Point Froward between the years 1690-1698 covering some 24 acres and costing some £70,000. The colourful statue is of "King Billy" (William IV 1765-1837)in whose reign the dockyard was further developed. This dockyard is now designated and protected as an ancient monument with a new roof installed to protect it from the elements. The estuary coast of Cornwall can be seen in the distance.
