  • Yala Snow Mountain, also known as Xia Xue Yala Gabo in Tibetan, means Oriental White Yak Mountain. Located at the junction of Kangding, Daofu, and Danba counties in Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 5884 meters, it faces the Moerduo Divine Mountain in the northwest direction. The mountain top is covered with snow all year round and is a famous sacred mountain in the Kangba region, where the Yara River originates. It is connected to the Tagong Grassland to the southwest, Mugecuo to the southeast, adjacent to the Yuke Grassland to the northeast, Danba to the east, Daofu to the north, and Kangding to the south. The meaning of Yala in Tibetan is Shede, which means that Yala Snow Mountain is a sacred mountain representing sacrifice and dedication, and is a protective deity in the Bamei region that cannot be desecrated. There is a folk legend that the mountain god Animaqing was willing to let his eldest son come to the snow capped mountains of Ara at the request of the gods.
