  • Mansoa alliacea (Lam.) A H. Gentry, also known as Purple Bell Vine or Zhang's Purple Bignonia, is an evergreen vine like shrub in the family of Purple Bignonia. The plant is vine like and has tendrils. The leaves are compound and have a dark green oval shape, with a glossy appearance. Flowers axillary, cyme inflorescence, corolla tubular, opening pentalobed. The flowering period is from spring to autumn, the peak flowering period is from August to December, and the fruit period is from April to June and from September to January of the following year. After rubbing its flowers and leaves, they have a garlic odor, hence the name Garlic Vine.
