- Photo title: Garcia and Maggini Warehouse San Francisco 4
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- This warehouse built in 1913 was just another warehouse of the area, until 1934 when it became the epicenter of the 1934 Maritime Strike, with the police used to break the strike. With two left dead, by the police, just two days after the strike began, a general warehouse strike spread to all the rest of the warehouses throughout the city and eventually the whole country. To commemorate the event, there is a bronze plaque on the front of the building telling the story of the strike.Today it is two restaurants. As a side note, there is also a bronze marker in the sidewalk just off to the side of the building, showing the original South Beach Shoreline, 1852. As seen 9 May 2024.
