- Photo title: Gran Oriente Filipino Masonic Temple South Park San Francisco 4
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- Like almost all new immigrant groups first coming to America, the first waves of Filipinos faced many forms of discriminations. Mutual aid societies comprised of already established immigrants from their same country, many times even the same cities and towns, would come out and help the newer arrivals, in their native languages. In 1921 when a group of a few dozed Filipino Merchant Marines founded a Masonic Lodge in San Francisco. The Masons were already popular in the Philippines with the revolution going on over there, and this one, like all the other ones in this country were originally connected to the Grand Lodge in Manilla. As seen 9 May 2024.
