- Cover photo description:
- Indian cobra (Naja naja), also known as spectacled cobra, Asian cobra, or binocellate cobra, is a venomous snake in the family Elapidae. Often seen with snake charmers it is moderately sized, heavy-bodied species. Adults are uniformly black in colour on top, while the underside, outside the throat region, is usually light. This species can easily be identified by its relatively large and quite impressive hood, which it expands when threatened. It is native to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.
