- Particular of the Flaminio obelisk. The Flaminio obelisk is one of thirteen ancient obelisks of Rome, located in the Piazza del Popolo. It has a height of 24 meters, and with the base and the cross reaches 36.50 m. It was built at the time of the pharaohs Seti I and Ramses II (thirteenth century BC) and placed in the temple of the Sun in Heliopolis in Egypt; was taken at the behest of Emperor Augustus in Rome in 10 BC together with the obelisk of Montecitorio, and placed on the spina of the Circus Maximus, followed three centuries later from obelisk in Lateran.
