- Author: Nejdetduzen
- Cover photo description:
- Situated between the Mediterranean resorts of bohemian Kas and rustic Finike, Myra was an ancient city from the Lycian period and at one stage did become the capital of the empire. The origins of the city are uncertain but historical documents found around the world suggest it received many famous visitors including Saint Paul and various Roman emperors. Between the ninth century and eleventh century AD, citizens started to leave because of Arab invasion and natural elements like earthquakes. Eventually it was deserted and left for ruins.
