- Dvigrad meaning: Twin-town is an abandoned medieval town. It is located in central Istria, largest Croatian peninsula. The town had rich and exciting history, sacked few times by Genoa and Venice army. After outbreaks of malaria and bubonic plague it was definitely abandoned at the beginning of 18th century. The legend also says that that the famous Caribbean pirate, Henry Morgan, fleeing the law, hid around Dvigrad considerable amount of gold and other valuables.
