- Asharfi mahal or the madrasa here belong to two stages, the earlier representing a college madrasa built by hoshang shah a.d. 1405 - 22 to face the jami masjid as its a d joint. the madrasa comprised an open quadrangular court enclosed by a row of cells and two bays of arcaded corridors with a magnificent porch on the west. of its four corner towers, one in the north - west was later converted into a seven storeyed victory tower by mahmud khilji a. d. 1436 - 69 who blocked the madrasa with its large court and use it as a platform for erecting his grand marble tomb, now ruined. the main hall of the tomb was richly decorated with carvings. calligraphy and panels of various shades of marble and was originally covered with a dome which was loftier tan those of the jami masjid and hoshang shah tomb.
