  • This image shows the historic Witley Court as it stands today together with part of the extensive gardens and the Perseus and Andromeda fountain. Originally the site of medieval house built in Norman times, this house was rebuilt on a grander scale in the early 1700`s. It was enlarged between 1793 - 1833 with further major transformations between 1851 - 60. Unfortunately a massive fire destroyed most of the house in 1937 and it has never been occupied since. Restoration has been ongoing since 1972. The golden dome of the adjoining Saint Michael and All Angels Church can be seen in the background. The interior is one of the finest Italian Baroque churches in Britain.
