- This image is taken in the newly opened Penguin Expedition within Sydney Aquarium in November 2016. King penguin, Aptenodytes patagonicus, is the second largest species of penguin resembling emperor penguin. Their natural diet mainly consist of small fish, lanternfish, and squid. Note that the penguins rock back onto their heels and tail to lift their feet off the ice to avoid their feet getting too cold.
