- Dujiangyan is located in the west of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It is located on the Minjiang River in the western part of the Chengdu plain. It was built in the last year of the Qin Zhao Wang (about 256 BC to 251 BC). It is a large water conservancy project built on the basis of the predecessors of Li Bing, Shu County, on the foundation of Bie Ling, which is composed of water dividing fish mouth, flying sand weir, and the mouth of the treasure bottle. Part of it, which has been playing the role of flood control and irrigation for more than two thousand years, is the largest water conservancy project in the world, which has been the longest, only retained, still used and characterized by no dam diversion in the world so far.
