Cover photo info
- Photo title: Sutro Tower as seen from Mt Davidson San Francisco, 8.
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- Much of San Francisco`s hills rocks are Greywacke, a form of rock that was only recently understood. It is produced by underwater avalanches, causing different types of sediment to get all mixed together in unusual ways. The rippled patters on the rock is one of the characteristics. This is the top of Mt. Davidson, the highest natural point in San Francisco, is 977 feet. Sutro Tower on top of Twin Peaks is about two miles from from Mt Davidson, but at 977 feet tall, appears to be only two feet away.
