- Photo title: Wayland’s Smithy 3,590 BC | Long Barrow
- Author: Thelegacyofthesoul
- Cover photo description:
- Wayland’s Smithy is a Neolithic tomb built up twice. The first monument was built between 3590 and 3555 BC, and was a funerary structure of stone and wood. After a short period of disuse, it was enclosed within a second larger corridor, twice its height, which remained in use for approximately 100 years. The ruin of the second burial mound dates approximately 3460-3400 BC: the burial mound that we contemplate today.
