- Altered in 1892, this 16th century construction is standing at the perfect point for a complete panoramic view over the Sella river’s estuary. The splendid southern façade still remains on its undeniable original Renaissance style. However, if you look at its eastern wall you’ll realise that nowadays the chancel part of the chapel is missing. Probably a landslide made it collapsed in an imprecise moment of its history. The chapel houses the image of the Virgin of Guà Âa holding a fishing boat on her arms; as a patron of sailors and fishermen it’s said that she is the one who takes care of them, and the one who guides them through the ocean to their ports. At the end of the 18th century a defence battery was projected in this site to protect the village from the attack of enemy fleets. Actually, the original cannons used during the Napoleonic French invasion are displayed beside the chapel, since they were replaced there in 1999.
