Phalaenopsis amboinensis-epiphytic herbaceous plant of the Orchid family. Monopodial epiphyte of medium size. 3-4 leaves in nature, 4-6 in culture. Leaves are elliptical, 14-25 cm long, up to 10 cm wide. Peduncle up to 45 cm, sometimes the plant produces 2-3 peduncles. `Revolving` type of flowering, when one flower fades, the peduncle lengthens somewhat and a new bud appears. All flower segments are creamy, yellow or yellow-greenish, sometimes tinted with orange, with brownish-red transverse strokes. Flower diameter up to 6.5 cm. Many clones have a pleasant scent. Sepals are elliptical in shape, with curved tips. The petals are similar in shape, somewhat shorter. The lip is triple, about 2.2 cm long, the lateral parts are straight, yellow, the front part is green-white, elliptical-oval. It can bloom at any time of the year, more abundantly in summer. Habitat, ecological features Ambon, Sulawesi, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. In places of growth, there are practically no seasonal changes in air temperature. The average daytime temperature is 28-30 Â° C, the average nighttime is 23 Â° C. Air humidity all year round from 72 to 84%.
