- Cover photo description:
- The Delija fountain was the name of several fountains, which were built in Belgrade. The name Delijska comes from the Turkish word for light cavalry, for whose horses the fountain was used. The third fountain with this name was erected in Knez Mihailova Street during the reconstruction in 1987, according to the designs of the architect Aleksandar Derok, and is a replica of the older Delija fountain. The first fountain was built in 1843 and demolished in 1889, when the second Delija fountain was built instead. It was demolished in 1913 when the building of the Serbian Academy of Sciences was built.
