- Photo title: Loch Eriboll, Sutherland, Scotland
- Author: Bobbrooky
- Cover photo description:
- Loch Eriboll is a nine mile long sea loch, on the northernmost shore of the Scottish mainland, in the Sutherland area. It is very deep, and has been used many times historically, by the royal navy as a safe anchorage. It was used continually in WW2, and sailors nicknamed it Loch Orrible, because of the inclement weather. This is where the remaining U-boats surrendered (33) at the end of the war.
