- Cutter selloana. Rhizomatous herb of the Poaceae family, native to southern Brazil and Argentina, perennial, erect, clumpy, 1.5 to 3 meters tall and wide. It has numerous culms and dense foliage. Linear, long leaves 1-2 meters long and 1 cm wide, with sharp edges that can cut, bluish-green or silver-gray in color. Inflorescences consisting of large, dense, silvery-white plumes. There is a form of purplish plumes and a rare yellowish one. They appear in summer and autumn. Used in garden decoration as an isolated plant, providing a beautiful ornamental effect when in the middle of large lawns, it can also be used in floral arrangements. In this case, its flowers are cut right after they bloom and dried in the sun.
