  • The Indian paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi) is a medium-sized passerine bird native to Asia, where it is widely distributed across the Indian subcontinent, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Males have elongated central tail feathers, and a black and rufous plumage in some populations whilst others have white plumage. Females are short-tailed with rufous wings and a black head. Indian paradise flycatchers feed on insects, which they capture in the air often below a densely canopied tree. Food habits are mostly insectivorous and carnivorous. the lifestyle of this bird is Arboreal, Torpor, Terrestrial and is a seasonally migrating bird. During winters, the population in the northern parts of India migrate to the southern Indian peninsula.
