Each year she receives a "Curb Appeal Award" sign to display amongst her flowers. Lawns are high-maintenance and non-beneficial to native wildlife. On the other hand, these wildflowers are highly beneficial to pollinators and local wildlife like cottontails, amphibians, snakes and many birds including hummingbirds. If more suburban gardeners planted more native flowers, bushes and trees, our environment and ecosystem would greatly improve!
