- Cover photo description:
- Even big cities start out as small and quaint. Smaller towns hold onto that quaint 'old world charm' longer. As 'progress' comes to Town, it can chip away at that charm. At the corner of Carpinteria and Linden Avenues in Carpinteria California once stood Mills Drugs, from 1944 to 1993, and before becoming Mills, it was Tennyson Drugs. Sadly, when the 101 Highway came through, it took too much land from Mills. It was also the kind of 'Five and Dime' that also had a soda fountain. This decorative corner is now dedicated to Geoffrey and Margaret Mills and their drug store that once stood here. As enjoyed 28 September 2023.
