  • Cover photo description:
  • The strangely beautiful blue dome topped Pasquale's Tower is one of the sites of San Francisco that is hard to see, harder even to find. And this is for a tower that is on one of the hills, not a flat area. It was built with the intent of people being able to see it, all four floors of living space included. But as more and more condos went up around it over the past century, the view of it was blocked. Even walking up to the barbed wire topped heavily locked tall fence, you still will never be able to see it. You can read GOGNA, Italian for a wooden frame to place criminals, for punishment. Built by Pasquale Gogna in 1930, this is the real meaning for the word topping the gate. At the time, it was also the tallest building in the area. You can also see the TransAmerica building. As enjoyed 18 April 2024.
