- Photo title: Federal Street Chinese Fishing South Beach San Francisco 4
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- What is today Federal Street in the South Beach section of San Francisco was originally part of the cities earlier shoreline. It was along these and similar nearby shorelines that boats from some of the Chinese residents who lived here would be docked. They would go out into the Bay to fish, mainly by nets, for shrimp, to be sold to local restaurants and seafood shops. There is a bronze plaque in the sidewalk indicating the shoreline of 1857. As seen 1 May 2024.
