- Cover photo description:
- Colonnade Reistna is situated about 2 km southwest of Valtice. Currently it serves for the public as a lookout. You can get there following the red tourist trail or from a parking which is about 500 m from Colonnade. The building was designed by the architect Joseph Hardmuth. Alois I. of Liechtenstein began to build the building (1805), but it was finished by his younger brother Jan Josef I. (1816). He conceived this building in memory of his brothers and father. On the wall there is German sign: „Son to his father, brother to his brothers.“ and „The only surviving son to unforgettable ancestors.“ The statues, made by Joseph Klieber, represent the virtues and characteristics of the former rulers.
