- Photo title: Mutant Sunflowers
- Author: Janechilders
- Cover photo description:
- This strange looking flower is a Black Eyed Susan, of the Sunflower family. It is a mutation among hundreds of normal sunflowers growing on a small 10 acre farm in rural Oklahoma. The discovery of the mutated sunflower is apparently rare in the Sooner state. There are several theories for the cause of the mutation, with the most reported findings along the California coast, with mist from the ocean being the cause for the mutation. In Japan, the flower and plant mutation is caused from radiation meltdowns and disasters. Since Oklahoma is not geologically located near either of these, this Oklahoma Mutant Sunflower remains a mystery.
